We had a very insightful and interactive talk on Friday, 28/02/2025, by Dr. Siva M Sivaramakrishnan, Head of R&D and Zydus Wellness Institute. The main focus of the talk was on "Simple Everyday Products: Complex Physical Chemistry Behind a Deceptive Façade".During this talk, we got an overview of how to choose a target problem to work on in the context of formulation of everyday products and how Rheology, Colloidal properties and surfactancy are used in Industrial products. The speaker discussed how these affect the end user experience using some interesting examples.

ChE Alumni Connect Series - ChE alumni talk by Dr. Alpana Thorat shared her insights into her career journey, key milestones that influenced her professional decisions, and how her background in Chemical Engineering has shaped her path with our current students. Alpana Thorat, Ph.D. holds PhD in Chemical Engineering from IIT Gandhinagar (2016 Batch). She is the recipient of the “Outstanding Research Award” for her PhD Thesis work. After graduating with a PhD degree from IITGN, she worked as a postdoctoral scientist at Purdue University, University of Minnesota, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She is currently working at Pfizer, Groton, Connecticut, USA, as Principal Scientist-Crystallization Process Development.

Chemical Engineering Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar organized a Workshop on Nanomaterials jointly with the University of Miami from December 10-11, 2024, at the IITGN campus. The event saw more than 100 enthusiastic attendees from all over India. A big thanks to all our speakers from UoMiami, IIT Gandhinagar, IISER Pune, PRL, and other industries for making this such an enriching experience for our participants. We hope to see many more iterations of the workshop in the future and look forward to fruitful collaborations among the speakers.

She was awarded the President's Gold Medal and the award for best performance in Humanities and Social Science. Dr. Jain has achieved remarkable success, currently working with Micron Technology in the USA, and holds a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin.
